Nasal polyps

Nasal polyps are pieces of tissue that become swollen and covered with mucus. In many cases, nasal polyps begin in the nasal cavity and end up in the nasal passages.

Nasal polyps can make it difficult to breathe and hinder your sense of smell. Nasal sprays containing a substance called “corticosteroids” can usually treat small polyps, while larger ones may need to be surgically removed.

Oral cancer

Many things cause oral cancer, but high risk factors include tobacco (including smokeless) and alcohol consumption.

Fortunately, oral cancer can be spotted early in many cases.

Early signs of oral cancer may include lumps or enlarged lymph nodes (glands) in both sides of the neck and under the lower jaw, or lesions on the lips, gums, or inner tissues of the mouth.

If you notice red or white patches, sores that bleed or don’t heal, have difficulty swallowing, or a persistent hoarse or sore throat, contact our office immediately.
